A Travellerspoint blog

Last Day

Well, the trip is nearing its end. It's hard to think about going back to work shortly after I get back. Completely different mindset!

We have been enjoying a lot of relaxation time in Chiang Mai. We have been reading, drinking coffee, shopping at the market and watching really cheesy American movies on our tv. I'm bummed we can't watch any Olympics.

We visited the Hilltribe Museum yesterday which was interesting. Today we went to the silk factory and the silver factory. It was really great seeing how they make silk and to see all the people in the factory sitting at their space doing the silver work by hand. Wow, a lot goes into both silk and silver! Then we shopped at their silk and silver stores of course.

Thailand has been such an amazing place to visit. I'm so glad I came here. The people are really nice (especially at our guesthouse in Chiang Mai!) and the culture is fascinating. I'm not sure if I will return because there are so many other places I want to visit. I wouldn't mind coming back if I absolutely had to though! It wouldn't be hard to twist my arm.

We leave Chiang Mai early tomorrow morning and fly to Bangkok. I fly out of Bangkok at 11:55 p.m. I layover in Tokyo and then LA. I will be arriving home in Minneapolis late afternoon on Monday. Long flights!!

See you soon!

WOW - it sounds absolutely amazing! Can't wait to see pictures! I've missed not talking to you about all of the "Stuff" that's going on with school as we are starting back up! It'll be good to have you home again! I sure don't envy the next 36 hours as you are traveling home...be safe and get some rest as you are going to need it before school starts again! Lot's new going on this year - it should keep us on our toes!!

It's been awesome traveling with you Kristin! Nice job on the blog. Thanks for taking care of me when I was ill. You are an amazing friend and travel companion! Just remember that it's not just in Thailand where, "Anything goes!"
Life really should be that way all the time!

Hope your journey home goes smoothly and you make a great transition back to the U.S....and, back to work before you know it.

Hey Sis,I'm glad you had such a good time in Thailand. This was a trip of a lifetime :o) It will be nice to have you home again....it's getting to be Outlet Mall season after all! Have a safe flight back, a good start to the school year and some quality down time at home. Oh yeah, what Venisha said above....I second that :o) When work gets stressful, just take a trip in your mind back to Ko Phi Phi (gotta love that name!!).
